Youth Development Programs
2020欧洲杯预赛时间表Our Youth Leadership Programs are all weekly after school or lunch time programs run by the StarVista Youth Development Initiative.
Youth Advisory Board
Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is the student voice for the Center. Each year, Youth Advisory Board members conduct a needs assessment survey to find out what our students feel are the biggest issues on campus and in our community. Based on the needs assessment findings YAB then creates projects and campaigns to address and raise awareness about those issues. Youth Advisory Board members also represent the Sequoia Teen Resource Center on district, city and county committees such as the School District's Wellness Advisory Committee, and Redwood City-North Fair Oaks Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Partnership . In addition, Youth Advisory Board members provide outreach for both the Sequoia Teen Resource Center and Sequoia Teen Wellness Center.
2020欧洲杯预赛时间表The group is composed of Sequoia students 9th through 12th grade who receive training in conflict mediation skills. Throughout the year, our peer mediators provide mediations for students who are working through a conflict. If you ever have a conflict with a peer, you can request peer mediation by notifying a teacher, guidance counselor, AVP or by coming to the Teen Resource Center and talking to one of the TRC staff. Peer Mediation also works to promote heathly relationships on campus and in the community through projects and campaigns addressing issues like bullying or teen dating violence.
Leadership and Resiliency Program (LRP)
2020欧洲杯预赛时间表The Leadership and Resiliency Program has three main components which all work to help it's members build healthy relationships, expand their personal competencies and goal setting skills. The three main components are weekly Resiliency Groups, and monthly Community Service and Adventure Activity trips. Resiliency Groups will happen at lunch and consist of various activities and discussions. The monthy Community Service and Adventure Activity trips will take place after school and occasionally on weekends where students will get to assume a positive role in the community and experience opportunities to gain leadership skills.
